Hi Lads,

Thought I'd drop you a line to let you know how Seville is coping after your
mass invasion last week.

I moved from Ipswich to Seville twelve years ago and despite the city
hosting a whole host of events I've never saw anything like last week. Even
in 92 I went to Barcelona for the Olympics and the scenes were nothing like
they were in the town last Wednesday (and even on Monday and Tuesday!)

On the day of the game I decided to go into town and sample the atmosphere
and it was unbelievable. Green and white as far as the eye could see. You
guys basically ate up one of the busiest cities in Spain!

I was one of the lucky ones to get a ticket to the match and it's fair to
say that despite a few strange periods of silence through the 120 minutes
(got to be expected I guess) that when you did get going you were probably
the noisiest fans I've ever heard.

The game itself was a bit of a kick in the teeth to you guys but you done
well to get to the final and I think your reaction on the final whistle
showed that you were proud to even have got that far.

I always had a little soft spot for Huns up in Scotland (probably because of
Terry Butcher, don't know why really) but from now on me, and every other
person touched by your dedication, good will, good humor and charm in
Seville will now have a little place in our football hearts for the Celts.

One Celtic fan put it best when I was speaking to him about the shear
numbers (Seville news reported 80,000 in the city and another 30,000 in the
costal resorts) when he said Celtic was not just a football club it was an
integral part of the lives of those who associate themselves with it.

After bumping into flags from Texas and "Skippy The 6-2 Kangeroo" I was
inclined to agree.

Well-done lads. Best support I've ever seen for a football club. They're
still talking about you and missing you in Seville and you should be very
proud.
